Singapore 2025 Cash Support: Up to S$1,450 Announced — Who Will Receive It

To help people with their daily expenses, the Singapore government has several cash support schemes in place.

In particular, these will provide direct payments, vouchers, and rebates to those in need and they will also certainly come in handy during the expected high living costs of 2025.

Inflation remains a challenge and prices of food, utility, and housing have continued to rise, however, these measures still prove to be a significant support. The majority of them are automatic, hence the most people who are eligible will receive assistance without applying.

What Are the Main Cash Support Schemes?

The main programs are the Assurance Package (AP), GST Voucher (GSTV) scheme, Community Development Council (CDC) Vouchers, and U-Save rebates. They cover different needs like groceries, bills, and healthcare.

Assurance Package Cash Payouts

Through the Assurance Package, cash is given directly to the eligible poor to help them with their living expenses. In December 2025, adults who qualify and are 21 and older will receive between S$100 and S$600, depending on their income and type of home.

Throughout the full AP (2022–2026) period, most will get a total ranging from S$700 to S$2,250. Payments are directly credited to your bank account using PayNow-NRIC.

GST Voucher Support

The GSTV scheme works as an offset against GST hikes. In August 2025, cash payments up to S$850 will be given to low- and middle-income adults, while the elderly will be given MediSave top-ups of up to S$450.

This lessens the pressure of daily costs without needing to apply, as eligibility is confirmed through the automatic process.

CDC Vouchers for Households

2025 will see every Singaporean household getting S$800 worth of CDC Vouchers. S$500 was given in May (S$250 for hawkers/heartland shops, S$250 for supermarkets), and the remaining S$300 will be released in early 2026.

Claiming these is simple as they can be done online and they also help local businesses.

U-Save and Other Rebates

HDB households will benefit from increased U-Save rebates (up S$760 in 2025) to lower their electricity bills. Payments are made quarterly, in addition to S&CC rebates of 1.5 to 3.5 months.

Special Support for Seniors and Families

Older people will be given extra incentives of S$200 to S$900 and increased MediSave. Families with newborns will benefit from LifeSG credits of S$500 per child for purchases like groceries or education.
